กาลครั้งหนึ่ง ณ ดินแดนทางซีกโลกตะวันออก มีแม่หม้ายยากจนผู้หนึ่ง นางมีอาชีพตัดฝ้าย ละมีบุตรชายที่เฉลียวฉลาดชื่อว่าอาละดิน
♫ อาละดิน อาละกิน ได้ยินกันใช่มั้ย ชื่อนี้จำไว้ อาละดิน อาละดิน หนุ่มน้อยคนฉลาด ว่องไวองอาจ อาละดิน นิสัยดี มีน้ำใจ และมีเมตตา ไปไหนใครๆ ก็ร้องว่า อาละดิน อาละดิน ♫
วันหนึ่งขณะที่อาละดินออกไปเดินเล่นได้เจอพ่อมดตนหนึ่ง พ่อมดใจร้ายอยากได้ตะเกียงวิเศษแต่ทำเองไม่ได้ จึงคิดให้อาละดินลงไปเอาตะเกียงวิเศษในถ้ำมาให้ตน พ่อมดหลอกว่าจะยกสมบัติในถ้ำทั้งหมดนั้นให้อาละดิน ขอเพียงแค่อาละดินเอาตะเกียงวิเศษมาให้ตนก็พอ อาละดินคิดว่าหากลงไปแล้วเจอสมบัติจริงๆ เขาจะได้เอาไปให้แม่ผู้ยากจนของเขาเป็นการตอบแทนบุญคุณ เขาจึงออกเดินทางไปที่ถ้ำกับพ่อมด
พ่อมดแอบคิดแผนร้ายในใจโดยที่อาละดินไม่รู้
“ฮ่าฮ่าฮ่าฮ่าฮ่า เจ้าอาละดิน คอยดูเถอะข้าจะหลอกใช้เจ้า พอข้าได้ตะเกียงวิเศษมา ข้าจะปล่อยเจ้าไว้ในถ้ำนั่นแหละ จะได้ไม่มีใครเอาเรื่องที่ข้ามาขโมยตะเกียงมาเล่าต่อ ฮ่าฮ่าฮ่าฮ่าฮ่า”
แล้วทั้งสองเดินทางมาจนถึงปากถ้ำลึก พ่อมดส่งเชือกให้อะลาดินโรยตัวลงไปในถ้ำที่แทบจะมองไม่เห็นอะไรเลย เขาค่อยๆใช้มือสัมผัสผนังถ้ำเดินไป สักพักก็พบกับแสงระยับของตะเกียงวิเศษและสมบัติมากมาย พ่อมดเจ้าเล่ห์รีบบอกอะลาดินให้ส่งตะเกียงวิเศามาให้ก่อน แต่ด้วยความเฉลียวฉลาด อะลาดินจึงไม่ยอมเพราะรู้ว่าหากพ่อมดได้ตะเกียงวิเศษแล้วจะต้องทิ้งเขาไว้ในถ้ำแน่ๆ พ่อมดโกรธมากจึงร่ายเวทมนตร์ให้หินก้อนใหญ่มาปิดปากถ้ำ อะลาดินตกใจมาก เขาพยายามหาทางออกจากถ้ำ แต่ก็ไม่มีทางอื่นใดเลย อะลาดินรู้สึกสิ้นหวัง พลางก็ใช้มือถูตะเกียงไปมาโดยไม่รู้ตัว ทันใดนั้นก็มีแสงเจิดจ้าเกิดขึ้น แสงนั้นพุ่งออกมาจากตะเกียง แล้วก็ปรากฎร่างยักษ์ลอยออกมา
“หา ยักษ์” อะลาดินอุทานด้วยความตกใจ แต่ยักษ์ใหญ่กลับพูดอะลาดินอย่างอ่อนโยน
“ท่านผู้มีพระคุณ ท่านปลดปล่อยข้าให้มีอิสระ เพราะฉะนั้นต่อไปนี้ข้าจะยอมรับใช้ท่านตลอดไป ตราบใดที่ท่านไม่ทอดทิ้งข้า”
“จริงเหรอจ๊ะพี่ยักษ์”

ว่าแล้ว ยักษ์ใจดีจึงร่ายมนจ์ ก้อนหินก้อนใหญ่ที่ปิดปากถ้ำก็เปิดออก แล้วพาอาละดิน ตะเกียง และสมบัติ เหาะทะยานขึ้นฟ้าทันที อะลาดินมีความสุขมาก จึงร้องเพลงออกมา

อะลาดินกลายเป็นเศรษฐีตั้งแต่นั้นมา และด้วยความมีน้ำใจไม่เห็นแก่ตัว ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งที่แม่ของเขาพร่ำสอนเสมอมา อะลาดินจึงนำแก้วแหวนเงินทองที่ได้มาไปแจกจ่ายแก่คนยากคนจนในเมืองนั้น จนกลายเป็นที่รักใคร่ของผู้คนทั่วไป
วันหนึ่งขณะที่อะลาดินขี่ม้าไปดูแลผู้ทุกข์ยาก เขาได้มีโอกาสพบเจ้าหญิง ธิดาสุลต่านต่างเมือง ทั้งสองสบตาและรู้สึกรักกัน อะลาดินจึงออกติดตามนางไปและขอเข้าพบสุลต่าน อาละดินขอเจ้าหญิงแต่งงาน สุลต่านรู้สึกโกรธมาก สั่งทหารให้จับอาละดินไว้เพราะเขาเป็นเพียงคนธรรมดา แต่เจ้าหญิงเองก็รู้สึกรักอาละดิน จึงอ้อนว้อนให้สุลต่านปล่อยตัว สุลต่านจึงท้าทายว่าหากเขานำทองคำสี่สิบหีบมามอบให้ก็จะให้แต่งงานกับเจ้าหญิง เมื่อกลับบ้าน อาละดินจึงเอามือถูตะเกียง ยักษ์ก็ออกมาเนรมิตทองคำสี่สิบหีบให้

อะลาดินนำทองคำสี่สิบหีบไปที่วังสุลต่าน ในที่สุดอะลาดินจึงได้แต่งงานกับเจ้าหญิงตามที่ปรารถนา เวลาผ่านไป อะลาดินลืมดูแลตะเกียง ปล่อยให้ตะเกียงที่เคยมีคุณค่ากลายเป็นแค่ตะเกียงเก่าๆ ที่ดูไร้ค่า และนั่นทำให้พ่อมดร้ายหวนกลับมา
วันหนึ่งในยามที่อะลาดินไม่อยู่ พ่อมดคิดหาทางออกอุบายมาขอซื้อตะเกียงจากเจ้าหญิง และเจ้าหญิงก็ขายไปเพราะคิดว่าเป็นเพียงตะเกียงเก่าๆ ที่ไม่มีค่าอะไร เท่านั้นยังไม่พอ พ่อมดร้ายยังลักพาตัวเจ้าหญิงไปไว้ในปราสาทของตนอีกด้วย

อะลาดินกับมาก็ได้รับข่าวร้าย ทั้งตะเกียงและเจ้าหญิงไม่อยู่กับเขาแล้ว เขานึกเสียใจที่ไม่ได้ดูแลตะเกียงให้ดี อะลาดินจึงติดตามไปยังปราสาทของพ่อมดและหาเจ้าหญิงจนพบ เขาขอให้เจ้าหญิใส่ยานอนหลับให้พ่อมดกิน พอพ่อมดหลับ อะลาดินรับเข้าไปในปราสาทพ่อมดและค้นหาตะเกียงจนพบ เขาเอามือถูตะเกียง ยักษ์ก็ปรากฎร่างออกมา อะลาดินดีใจมากที่ได้พบกับพี่ยักษ์อีกครั้ง
“พี่ยักษ์จ๋า ข้าดีใจจริงๆที่ได้เจอพี่ยักษ์อีก”
“ข้าเองก็ดีใจ” ยักษ์ตอบด้วยความดีใจเช่นกัน
“พี่ยักษ์ ข้าขอโทษที่ไม่ได้ดูแลท่าน ต่อไปนี้ข้าจะไม่ทิ้งพี่ยักษ์ไว้โดยที่ไม่ดูแลอีก”
“ไม่เป็นไรหรอก”
ขณะที่อะลาดิน เจ้ายักษ์ พร้อมด้วยเจ้าหญิงกำลังดีใจอยู่นั้น พ่อมดตัวร้ายก็จะเข้ามาทำร้ายพวกเขา อะลาดินจึงสั่งให้ักษ์จัดการกับพ่อมดร้ายนั้นทันที เจ้ายักษ์ใหญ่เอาชนะพ่อมดได้ จากนั้นอาละดินก็พาเจ้าหญิงและตะเกียงกลับวังของตน

Once upon a time, in the Eastern Hemisphere was a poor widow who had a career in harvesting cotton and a clever son named Aladdin.
♫ Aladdin, Aladdin, did you hear that? Remember this name, Aladdin; Aladdin is a smart young man, fast and agile. Aladdin is good-natured, considerate, and kind. Wherever you go, everyone yells, Aladdin, Aladdin. ♫
One day, while Aladdin was walking, he met a wizard. The evil wizard wanted a magic lamp but couldn’t get it himself. So, he thought to have Aladdin go down to the cave and bring him the magic lamp. The wizard lied that he would give Aladdin all the treasure in the cave if he brought back the magic lamp. Aladdin considered this and thought that if he could go into the cave and find some real treasure, he could give it to his poor mother as a reward. So, he set off to the cave with the wizard.
Unbeknownst to Aladdin, the wizard had a terrible plan.
“Hahahahaha, Aladdin, watch out, for I'll trick you. When I get the magic lamp, I'll leave you in that cave, so no one will know that I stole the lamp. Hahahahahaha.”
Then both of them traveled to the mouth of a deep cave. The wizard gave Aladdin a rope to rappel into a cave where he could barely see anything. He slowly felt the wall of the cave with his hand and walked in. After a while, he saw the glow of the magic lamp and many other treasures. The devious wizard hurriedly told Aladdin to send back the magic lamp first. But with ingenuity, Aladdin refused, knowing that if the wizard got the magic lamp, he would surely leave him in the cave. The wizard was so angry that he conjured a large stone to cover the mouth of the cave. Aladdin was shocked and tried to find a way out of the cave, but there was no other way. Aladdin became hopeless and unknowingly rubbed the lamp with his hands. Suddenly, a bright light appeared and beamed from the lamp. Then, a giant genie floated out.
“What, a genie!?” Aladdin exclaimed in shock. But the giant genie spoke softly to Aladdin.
“Blessed master, you have set me free. Therefore, from now on, I will serve you forever. So long as you don't abandon me.”
“Really, genie?"
“Yes, from now on, I shall call you master.”
♫ Master, ha-ha, master, ha-ha, what do you want? Let me repay you. Whatever you want, I shall grant. So long as you take care of me, I will be yours forever. So long as you take care of me, I will be yours forever. Master, ha-ha, master, ha-ha, master, ha-ha-ha-ha, master, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. ♫
“Genie, if that is so, please take the treasures and this magic lamp to my house and help me out of this cave.”

Then the kind genie cast a spell, and the large stone covering the mouth of the cave opened. He promptly took Aladdin, the lamp, and his treasures into the sky. Aladdin sang happily,

From then on, Aladdin became a millionaire. Because his mother had taught him to be unselfish and kind, he dispersed the gold and silver glasses he had found to the poor people of that city. He became a hero for the commoners.
One day while Aladdin was riding to care for those in need, he had a chance encounter with a princess who was the daughter of a foreign sultan. The pair met eyes and fell in love at first sight, so Aladdin followed her and asked to see the Sultan. Aladdin asked the princess for her hand in marriage, but the sultan was furious. He ordered his soldiers to capture Aladdin, for he was just a commoner. However, the princess had already fallen in love with Aladdin and begged the Sultan to release him. The Sultan challenged Aladdin that if he could gift him forty chests of gold, he would allow the princess to marry him. When he returned home, Aladdin rubbed his hands on the lamp. The genie came out and conjured forty chests of gold for him.

Aladdin took the forty chests of gold to the Sultan's Palace. Eventually, Aladdin married the princess as he wished. Time passed, and Aladdin forgot to take care of the lamp. He let the once-valuable lamp collect dust and looked worthless. So, the evil wizard decided to come back.
One day when Aladdin was away, the wizard came up with a ruse and asked to buy the lamp from the princess. The princess sold it because she thought it was just an old lamp that had no value. But that was not enough; the evil wizard also kidnapped the princess and took her to his castle.
♫ Good things are valuable. If you don't take care of them, they'll be gone. ♫
Aladdin received bad news upon returning. Neither the lamp nor the princess was with him. He regretted not taking better care of the lamp. So, he decided to follow the lamp and the princess to the wizard's castle. He found the princess and asked her to put sleeping pills into the wizard’s food. When the wizard fell asleep, Aladdin returned to the wizard's castle and searched for the lamp until he found it. He rubbed his hands on it, and the genie appeared. Aladdin was very happy to see the genie again.
“My genie, I'm really glad to see you again.”
“I'm glad too,” replied the giant with joy.
“Genie, I'm sorry for not taking care of you. From now on, I won't leave you unattended again.”
“It's okay, master.”
While Aladdin, the genie, and the princess embraced joyfully, the evil wizards attacked them. Aladdin ordered the genie to get rid of the evil wizard immediately. The genie successfully defeated the wizard, and Aladdin took the princess and the lamp back to his palace.
From then on, Aladdin took great care of the magic lamp and the genie, which made him happy ever after.
