ณ บ้านของครอบครัวหมีในป่าใหญ่ หนูน้อยผมทองแสนซน เข้าไปขโมยกินข้าวโอ๊ต นั่งเก้าอี้ และนอนบนเตียงของครอบครัวหมี ระหว่างที่ครอบครัวหมีไม่อยู่ มาดูกันว่าครอบครัวหมีจะทำอย่างไรกับหนูน้อยคนนี้
นานมาแล้วมีหมี 3 ตัวอาศัยอยู่ในป่าใหญ่ซึ่งอยู่ไม่ไกลจากหมู่บ้านคนนัก หมี 3 ตัวนั้นประกอบไปด้วย พ่อหมีซึ่งเป็นหมีตัวโต ร่างกายสูงใหญ่ แม่หมี ตัวกลม ๆ มีขนาดตัวปานกลาง และลูกหมีที่เป็นหมีตัวเล็ก ๆ
เช้าวันหนึ่งหมีทั้ง 3 ตัวตื่นนอนและได้อาบน้ำแต่งตัวทาแป้งหอมฟุ้ง พร้อมที่จะเริ่มวันใหม่ จากนั้นไม่นานก็มีเสียงเรียกขึ้นว่า “ได้เวลาอาหารเช้าแล้วจะ” เป็นเสียงเรียกที่คุ้นเคยของแม่หมีนั่นเอง “หอมจังเลยฮะแม่ กำลังหิวอยู่พอดีเลยฮะ” เสียงเจ้าหมีน้อยออดอ้อน อาหารเช้าวันนี้เป็นเมนูที่แม่หมีทำเป็นประจำทุกวัน นั่นคือข้าวโอ๊ต เธอตักข้าวโอ๊ตร้อน ๆ ลงในชามทั้ง 3 ใบ โดยชามใบแรกเป็นชามใบใหญ่ที่สุด ชามนั้นเป็นของพ่อหมี ใบที่ 2 เป็นชามขนาดรองลงมา เป็นของแม่หมี และใบสุดท้ายซึ่งเป็นของลูกหมีเป็นชามใบที่มีขนาดเล็กที่สุด แต่ข้าวโอ๊ตนั้นร้อนเกินกว่าที่จะรับประทานได้ ระหว่างที่ต้องรอให้ข้าวโอ๊ตเย็นลง พ่อหมีจึงเอ่ยชวนแม่ลูกว่า “ระหว่างรอ เราออกไปเดินเล่น รับอากาศยามเช้ากันดีมั้ย” แม่หมีและลูกหมีต่างพยักหน้าเห็นด้วย และทั้ง 3 ก็ออกจากบ้านไป
ในขณะเดียวกันมีสาวน้อยผมทอง แก้มยุ้ย ตัวเล็ก ๆ บ้านของเธออยู่ห่างออกไปไม่ไกลนัก ได้ออกมาเล่นซนนอกบ้าน เธอได้เดินเล่นทักทายสัตว์นานาชนิด “สวัสดีจ้ะ สบายดีมั้ย” เธอถามนกที่เจอระหว่างทาง “สบายดีจะ หนูน้อยจะเดินไปไหนเหรอจ้ะ” นกน้อยกล่าวทักทาย “เดินเล่นไปเรื่อย ๆ จะ ฉันไปก่อนนะ โชคดีจ้ะ” แต่ก่อนที่จะจากกันนกน้อยได้บอกกับหนูน้อยผมทองว่า “อย่าเดินไปไหนสุ่มสี่สุ่มห้านะหนูน้อย ในป่ามีสัตว์น้อยใหญ่มากมาย ไม่ใช่ทุกตัวนะจ้ะที่จะใจดี” และทั้งคู่ก็แยกย้ายกันไป
เธอเดินเข้าป่ามาเรื่อย ๆ ไม่นานเธอก็มาถึงหน้าบ้านหลังหนึ่งซึ่งเธอไม่รู้เลยว่านั่นคือบ้านของหมี 3 ตัว “โอ้โฮ... บ้านหลังนี้ช่างน่ารักจังเลย” เธอมองผ่านกระจกตรงประตูเข้าไปในบ้านเห็นมีอาหารอยู่บนโต๊ะกินข้าว เมื่อแน่ใจว่าไม่มีใครอยู่และเห็นว่าประตูไม่ได้ล็อก เธอจึงเปิดประตูเข้าไปในตัวบ้าน
หนูน้อยผมทองเดินตรงดิ่งไปที่โต๊ะกินข้าว เมื่อเห็นข้าวโอ๊ตที่ส่งกลิ่นหอมไปทั่วทั้งห้อง ก็ทำให้ท้องร้องเพราะรู้สึกหิวขึ้นมาทันที “น่ากินจังเลย กลิ่นหอมมาก ๆ ด้วย“ หนูน้อยจึงหยิบช้อนที่ใหญ่ที่สุดข้างชามใบที่ใหญ่ที่สุดตักข้าวโอ๊ตเข้าปาก “โอ๊ย นี่มันร้อนเกินไป ฉันกินไม่ได้หรอก ลองอันนี้ดีกว่า” เธอขยับมาตักข้าวโอ๊ตในชามใบกลางที่เป็นของแม่หมี “ชามนี้ยังร้อนเกินไปอยู่ดี” เธอรีบวางช้อน แล้วมาที่ชามสุดท้าย คือชามใบเล็กของลูกหมีน้อยนั่นเอง “ว้าว มันช่างดีจริง ๆ อร่อยที่สุดไปเลย” เธอไม่รอช้าจัดการรับประทานข้าวโอ๊ตของลูกหมีจนเกลี้ยงชาม
สักครู่ต่อมาหนูน้อยผมทองได้เดินสำรวจรอบ ๆ บ้าน จนหันไปเห็นเก้าอี้ 3 ขนาดที่ตั้งอยู่หน้าทีวี เธอจึงอยากลองนั่งเก้าอี้ทั้ง 3 ตัวนั้น โดยเริ่มจากตัวที่ใหญ่ที่สุด แต่เธอไม่สามารถปีนขึ้นไปได้ “โอ้ว ตัวนี้มันช่างสูงเกินไป” หนูน้อยบ่นพึมพำ และเปลี่ยนมาตัวที่ 2 แต่ก็ยังไม่ถูกใจ “ตัวนี้มันแข็งเกินไป ไม่ชอบเลย” หนูน้อยผมทองจึงเลือกที่จะนั่งลงบนเก้าอี้ตัวเล็ก แต่... โครม!!! เก้าอี้ไม่สามารถรับน้ำหนักของเธอไหว มันจึงหักออกเป็นชิ้น ๆ “โอ๊ยยย หักหมดเลย อดนั่งเลยเรา”
หลังจากเล่นซนจนเก้าอี้พังไปแล้ว หนูน้อยผมทองเริ่มรู้สึกง่วงและอยากนอนเต็มที่ เพราะกินข้าวโอ๊ตเข้าไปจนอิ่ม เธอเดินทั่วบ้านจนมาเจอห้องนอนของครอบครัวหมี เธอเดินเข้าไปในห้องนั้น เห็นเตียงนอน 3 เตียง เตียงขนาดใหญ่ เตียงขนาดกลาง และเตียงขนาดเล็ก ตอนแรกเธอลองขนาดใหญ่แต่มันใหญ่และแข็งจนเกินไป เธอจึงมาลองเตียงที่ 2 ซึ่งมีขนาดเล็กกว่าเตียงแรกเล็กน้อย ทุกอย่างมันเหมือนจะพอดีแต่หนูน้อยผมทองก็ยังบ่นว่า “เตียงนี้มันนุ่มเกินไป” สุดท้ายหนูน้อยผมทองจึงย้ายมาที่เตียงเล็ก เธอยิ้มพอใจเมื่อ กระโดดขึ้นบนเตียงนอน “โอ้ว เตียงนี้มันช่างสบายจริง ๆ” หนูน้อยผมทองนอนเล่นอยู่บนเตียงสักพักก็เผลอหลับไปในที่สุด
ต่อมาหมีทั้ง 3 ตัวกลับมาถึงบ้านและเปิดประตูเข้าไปด้วยความหิวโหย แต่เมื่อมาถึงโต๊ะกินข้าวทั้ง 3 ต้องตกใจ “ใครมากินข้าวโอ๊ตของฉันเนี่ย” พ่อหมีเอ่ยเสียงดัง “มีคนมากินข้าวโอ๊ตของฉันเหมือนกัน” แม่หมีพูดขึ้นด้วยความโมโห “ข้าวโอ๊ตของผมถูกกินจนหมดเลยฮะ” ลูกหมีน้อยพูดด้วยน้ำเสียงเศร้า
จากนั้นครอบครัวหมีได้ตามรอยหนูน้อยผมทองจนมาถึงเก้าอี้หน้าทีวี “มีคนมานั่งเก้าอี้ของฉัน” เสียงคำรามกึกก้องของพ่อหมี “ใครมานั่งเก้าอี้ของฉัน” เสียงแม่หมีถามขึ้นด้วยความโกรธ ลูกหมีจึงรีบไปดูที่เก้าอี้ของตัวเองและพบว่า “ฮือ ๆ ใครไม่รู้มานั่งเก้าอี้ของผมจนหักเลยฮะ พ่อกับแม่มาดูสิ ฮือๆ” ลูกหมีร้องไห้ด้วยความเสียใจ พ่อหมีกับแม่หมีรีบเข้ามากอดปลอบลูก
หมีทั้ง 3 ตัวยังคงเดินตามรอยหนูน้อยไปที่ห้องนอน เห็นเตียงใหญ่อยู่ในสภาพยับยู่ยี่ เมื่อพ่อหมีเห็นก็คำรามด้วยความโกธร “ใครนะกล้ามานอนเตียงของฉัน” แม่หมีพูดต่อว่า “แล้วยังมานอนที่เตียงของฉันด้วย” ลูกหมีมองไปที่เตียงเล็กของมัน แล้วรีบส่งสัญญาณให้พ่อกับแม่เงียบเสียง“จุ๊ ๆ พ่อฮะ แม่ฮะ มีหนูน้อยผมทองมาหลับอยู่ที่เตียงของผมฮะ” และแล้วหมีทั้ง 3 ตัวค่อย ๆ ย่องไปยืนอยู่รอบเตียงที่หนูน้อยกำลังหลับอย่างสบาย “นี่แหละฮะ คนที่กินข้าวโอ๊ตของผมจนหมด นั่งเก้าอี้ของผมจนหัก แล้วยังนอนหลับสบายอยู่บนเตียงของผมด้วย”
ทั้งพ่อหมีและแม่หมีต่างพากับปลุกหนูน้อยผมทองให้ตื่นด้วยความไม่พอใจ “ตื่นเดี๋ยวนี้นะ เจ้าหนูน้อยเกเร” พ่อหมีคำรามปลุกเสียงดัง หนูน้อยผมทองรู้สึกตัวแต่ยังงัวเงีย ขยี้หูขยี้ตา “ฉันบอกให้ตื่นเดี๋ยวนี้ แม่หนูขี้โมย” คราวนี้แม่หมีเป็นฝ่ายตวาดเสียงดังตามมา หนูน้อยผมทองได้สติ ค่อย ๆ ลืมตา ทันใดนั้นเองเธอกรีดร้องสุดเสียงด้วยความตกใจสุดขีดเมื่อเห็นหมีทั้ง 3 ตัวยืนเรียงอยู่รอบเตียง “กรี๊ด!!” เธอกระโดดออกจากเตียงอย่างรวดเร็ว แล้วรีบวิ่งหนีออกจากบ้านเจ้าหมี 3 ตัวไปด้วยความกลัว วิ่งไปร้องไห้ไป เพื่อรีบกลับบ้านให้เร็วที่สุด โดยไม่หันหลังกลับไปมองที่บ้านของเจ้าหมี 3 ตัวอีกเลย
บทเรียนที่หนูน้อยผมทองได้ในวันนี้คือ เราไม่ควรเข้าไปในบ้านใครก่อนได้รับอนุญาต โชคดีที่ครั้งนี้สัตว์ที่หนูน้อยผมทองเจอไม่ใช่สัตว์ป่าใจร้าย เธอจึงสามารถกลับบ้านได้อย่างปลอดภัย แต่เธอได้ให้สัญญากับตัวเองว่า “ต่อไปฉันจะไม่ทำแบบนี้อีกแล้ว ขอโทษนะคะคุณหมีสามตัว”
Goldilocks and the Three Bears (นิทานหนูน้อยผมทองกับหมีสามตัว ฉบับภาษาอังกฤษ)
Once upon a time, there lived 3 bears in a vast forest not too far from a village where humans resided. The 3 bears consist of Papa Bear, who has a big, tall body, Mama Bear, who has a round, medium-sized body; and Baby Bear, a small little bear. One day the 3 bears wake up, shower, and get dressed in preparation for the new day ahead. Not long after, a voice calls out, “It’s time for breakfast!”. It is the familiar voice of Mama Bear. “Hmmm, that smells so good, mommy. I was just getting hungry,” the Baby Bear says sweetly.
Today’s breakfast is a dish that Mama Bear cooks every morning, oatmeal. She scoops hot oats into 3 bowls. The first bowl is the biggest and belongs to Papa Bear. The second bowl is smaller in size and belongs to Mama Bear. The last bowl is the smallest and belongs to Baby Bear. However, the oatmeal was too hot to eat, so while waiting for their food to cool down, Papa Bear suggests to his family, “Let’s go out for a stroll while we wait and breathe in the fresh morning air.” Mama and Baby bear nod in agreement and the 3 bears venture out of their home.
At the same time, a little girl with golden locks and puffy cheeks whose home is not too far away has come out to play and greets many different animals. “Hello, how are you?”, she asks a little bird whom she’s come across on the way. “I’m fine. Where are you going?”, asks the little bird. “I’m just taking a stroll. See you later.” But, before they part ways, the bird warns the little girl, “Don’t walk blindly everywhere. Many small and large creatures are in the forest, and not all are nice.” Then, they both part ways, and Goldilocks continue deeper into the forest. Soon, she stops in front of a large home. She has no idea that it belongs to the 3 bears, “Wow… What a cute home!” She peers through a window on the door and sees three bowls of food on the table.
When she is sure that no one is inside and sees that the door is not locked, she opens it and enters the house. Goldilocks walks straight to the dining table. When she sees 3 bowls of oatmeal that have filled the entire room with a wonderful fragrance, her stomach starts to growl. “This looks delicious and smells great, too,” she picks up the biggest spoon that is next to the biggest bowl and scoops the oatmeal into her mouth, “Ah! It’s too hot. I can’t eat this. Let me try this one.” She scoops oatmeal from the second medium-sized bowl belonging to Mama Bear. “This bowl is still too hot.” She quickly puts down the spoon and moves on to the third and smallest bowl belonging to Baby Bear, “Wow! This is just right and so delicious!” Goldilocks wastes no time to finish the Baby Bear’s whole bowl.
Not too long after, Goldilocks walks around the house and sees 3 chairs in front of the TV set. She wants to try sitting on all 3 chairs, starting with the biggest one. But she can’t climb onto it. “Oh, this one is too high,” the little girl murmurs to herself. She switches to the second chair but is still unsatisfied: "This chair is too hard. I don’t like it.” So, Goldilocks chooses to sit on the smallest chair, but….. crashhhhh!! The chair could not bear her weight and fell to pieces, “Ow! It’s all broken! I guess I can’t sit now.”
After destroying the chair, Goldilocks begins to feel sleepy after having eaten the bowl of oatmeal until full. She walks all over the house and finds the bears’ bedroom. She walks into the room and sees 3 beds: a big bed, a medium bed, and a small bed. First, she tries the biggest bed, but it is too big and stiff. Then, she walks to the second bed, which is a little smaller than the first one. Everything seems to fit, but Goldilocks still moans, “This bed is too soft.” Lastly, she moves to the smallest bed. She smiles satisfyingly and jumps atop the bed, “Oh, this bed is just right.” The golden-haired girl lays on the bed for a while and eventually falls asleep.
Later, the three bears come back home and open the door hungrily. But, when they arrived at the dining table, they were shocked. “Who’s been eating my oatmeal?” says Papa Bear loudly. “Who’s also been eating my oatmeal?” Mama bear says angrily. “Oh no, someone’s been eating my oatmeal, and they ate it all up,” the Baby bear says sadly.
Then the bears follow Goldilocks’ footsteps to the TV set. “Who’s been sitting on my chair?” roars Papa Bear. “Who’s also been sitting on my chair?”, asks Mama bear angrily. Baby Bear quickly goes to inspect his chair and finds, “(sobs, sobs) I don’t know who’s been sitting on my chair, but they broke it. Mommy, daddy, come look”, Baby Bear weeps in sorrow. Papa and Mama bear rush to hug and comfort Baby Bear.
The three bears continue to follow the little girl’s footsteps to the bedroom. They see the big bed in a mess. Upon seeing this, Papa Bear bellows furiously, “Who’s been sleeping on my bed?” Mama Bear chimes in, “Who’s also been sleeping on my bed?” Baby Bear looks at his little bed and signals to his parents to stay quiet, “Shh… Daddy, there is a little golden-haired girl asleep on my bed.” The 3 bears tip-toe slowly to the bed where Goldilocks is sleeping comfortably. “This is the person who has eaten all of my oatmeal, broken my chair, and is sleeping soundly on my bed,” says the Baby Bear. Papa and Mama bear unhappily wake up the little girl. “Wake up this instant, you naughty child,” Papa Bear roars loudly. Goldilocks awakes but is still drowsy. She rubs her eyes and ears. “I told you to wake up this instant, you little thief!”, this time, it is Mama Bear who yells loudly. The golden-haired girl comes to her senses, slowly open her eyes, and suddenly screams in utter shock when she sees 3 bears standing around the bed, “Arghhhhhhhh.” She quickly jumps out of bed and runs out of the bears’ home in fear. Tears stream down her face as she runs as fast as she can to get back home without even looking back at the 3 bears. The lesson that Goldilocks learns today is that she shouldn’t enter anyone’s home without permission. Luckily, the animals that Goldilocks came across today were not cruel, so she could return home safely. But she gives herself a promise, “From now on, I will never do this ever again. I’m so sorry, Mister Bears.”
