พอตกเย็น เจ้าหญิงได้นั่งโต๊ะทานอาหารเย็นร่วมกับพระราชาและพระราชินี เมื่อทั้งสามกำลังทานอาหารร่วมกันอย่างเอร็ดอร่อย ก็ได้ยินเสียง “อ๊บ อ๊บ... อ๊บ อ๊บ” ดังมาจากหน้าประตู พระราชาจึงให้หญิงรับใช้ไปเปิดดู เมื่อหญิงรับใช้ได้ไปเปิดก็เห็นเจ้ากบอยู่ที่หน้าประตู สาวใช้จึงเอ่ยถามขึ้นว่า “เจ้าขึ้นมาที่นี่ได้อย่างไร” เจ้ากบจึงตอบขึ้นมาว่า “อ๊บ อ๊บ ข้าคือเพื่อนสนิทของเจ้าหญิง และได้รับคำเชิญจากเจ้าหญิงให้ขึ้นมาทานอาหารด้วย” สาวใช้ได้ยินดังนั้นก็ประหลาดใจ และบอกให้เจ้ากบรออยู่ตรงนี้ก่อน สาวใช้จึงเดินเข้ามาหาเจ้าหญิงและบอกตามที่เจ้ากบน้อยได้บอกมา
พระราชาประหลาดใจเป็นอย่างยิ่ง “มันจะเป็นไปได้ยังไง นี่มันเกิดเรื่องอะไรขึ้น” พระราชาหันไปถามเจ้าหญิง “คืออย่างนี้ค่ะท่านพ่อ” จากนั้นเจ้าหญิงได้เล่าเรื่องทั้งหมดที่เกิดขึ้นให้พระราชาและพระราชินีฟัง เมื่อฟังเรื่องราวทั้งหมดแล้วพระราชาจึงพูดขึ้นว่า “ เมื่อเจ้าได้ให้คำสัญญาไว้แล้ว เจ้าจะต้องรักษาสัญญาที่ให้ไว้กับเจ้ากบ” และได้สั่งหญิงรับใช้ว่า “จงไปเปิดประตูให้เจ้ากบเข้ามาได้” ส่วนพระราชินีหันไปพูดกับหญิงรับใช้อีกคนหนึ่งว่า “ส่วนเจ้าไปจัดเตรียมจานช้อนแก้วน้ำ มาให้เจ้ากบด้วย ใช้ชุดเดียวกับที่เราใช้รับแขก”
เมื่อเจ้ากบเข้ามา ก็ได้กระโดดขึ้นโต๊ะร่วมทานอาหารกับทุกคนอย่างเอร็ดอร่อย จากนั้นไม่นานเจ้าหญิงจึงขอตัวขึ้นไปนอน แต่คำสัญญายังไม่ได้จบเพียงเท่านี้ เจ้ากบน้อยจึงรีบพูดขึ้น “งั้นข้าจะขึ้นไปนอนพร้อมเจ้าหญิงเลย ข้ากำลังง่วงพอดี กินอิ่มก็อยากนอนหลับ” เจ้ากบพูดพร้อมกระโดดไปมาด้วยความตื่นเต้น เจ้าหญิงทำท่าจะปฏิเสธ แต่พระราชาพูดขึ้นก่อนว่า “เจ้าหญิง...จงทำตามคำสัญญา” เจ้าหญิงได้แต่เดินคอตกขึ้นไปยังห้องนอน พร้อมกับมีเจ้ากบกระโดดเหยง ๆ ยิ้มร่าอย่างมีความสุขตามไป เจ้าหญิงและเจ้ากบนอนลงบนเตียงเดียวกัน เจ้าหญิงรู้สึกทั้งรังเกียจและขยะแขยง แต่ด้วยความเหนื่อยจึงทำให้ผล็อยหลับไป
เช้าวันรุ่งขึ้นเจ้ากบตื่นมาแต่เช้าและปลุกเจ้าหญิงให้ตื่นขึ้น “อรุณสวัสดิ์ เจ้าหญิงแสนสวย” เจ้าหญิงตื่นขึ้นมาด้วยความงัวเงียทั้งง่วงทั้งหงุดหงิดที่ถูกปลุกแต่เช้า “เจ้ากบประหลาด เจ้ากล้าดียังไงมาปลุกข้าแต่เช้าเช่นนี้ ข้าทนไม่ไหวแล้วนะ มีอะไรบ้างไหมที่ข้าพอจะทำให้เจ้าเลิกยุ่งกับข้าสักที” ด้วยความดีใจที่ได้ยินเจ้าหญิงพูดออกมาเช่นนั้น เจ้ากบจึงรีบตอบออกไปว่า “หม่อมฉันขอข้อสุดท้าย ให้เจ้าหญิงช่วยจุมพิตหม่อมฉัน แล้วหม่อมฉันจะไปจากที่นี่ ไม่กวนใจท่านอีกเลย” แต่คำพูดนั้นกลับทำให้เจ้าหญิงยิ่งโมโหหนักขึ้นจึงไล่เจ้ากบออกไป “ออกไปจากห้องของข้าเดี๋ยวนี้นะเจ้ากบประหลาด และอย่าได้หวังเลยว่าจะได้รับการจุมพิตจากข้า”

In a kingdom lives a beautiful princess in a large castle. One day, her father, the King, comes to her bed chamber with a golden ball, a gift for her birthday. “Happy Birthday, my darling. I hope you like the present that I’ve brought you”, says the King. The princess smiles sweetly with delight, “Thank you, father” she thanks him and leaps in with joy to give him a hug. Every day, the princess enjoys playing with the ball in the castle from dawn to dusk. One day, she grows bored of only playing with the ball in the castle, so she goes outside to the garden to play. The princess throws and plays with the ball but doesn’t see a pool in front of her. The princess throws the ball up higher than usual, and this time she is unable to catch it. The ball falls onto the ground, rolls into the pool, and sinks it. “Oh, no! My golden ball. (sobs, sobs)”, the princess weeps with sorrow by the edge of the pool. Suddenly, a little frog hops around beside the sad princess, “Ribbit, ribbit, my beautiful princess. Why are you crying over here?” the frog asks. The princess tells him the whole story. Upon hearing the story, the frog volunteers to help find the ball. However, there is one condition, “If I successfully find your ball, you have to promise that you will be my best friend, let me sit at your dining table with you, and sleep next to you. I’ve eaten until full, so now I would like to sleep”, says the frog while jumping up and down excitedly. The princess begins to refuse, but the King speaks up, “Princess… do as promised.” The princess unhappily walks to the bed chamber while the frog hops joyfully after her. The princess and the frog lay on the same bed. She feels disgusted but falls asleep from exhaustion.
The next morning the frog wakes up and wakes up the princess, “Good morning, beautiful princess.” The princess wakes up with drowsiness and irritation from having been woken up so early, “You strange frog. How dare you wake me up so early? I cannot take this any longer. Is there anything that will make you stop bothering me?”.
