นิทานราพันเซล ฉบับภาษาไทย

ครั้งหนึ่งนานมาแล้ว มีสามีภรรยาคู่หนึ่งต้องการมีลูกมาก ๆ จึงขอพรจากนางฟ้าทุกคืน บ้านของพวกเขาอยู่บนเขาใกล้ ๆ กับปราสาทเเม่มดใจร้ายที่ชอบปลูกผักหลายชนิดเเละดอกไม้ไว้รอบ ๆ ปราสาท

วันหนึ่งภรรยาได้มองเห็นผักในสวนของเเม่มดใจร้าย ผักนั้นมีชื่อว่า "ราพันเซล" ทำให้เธออยากกิน ต่อมาเธอล้มป่วยหนักมาก และร้องขอสามีว่าเธออยากจะกินผักราพันเซลมาก

“พี่จ๋า ฉันอยากกินผักราพันเซลเหลือเกิน ถ้าได้กิน อาการของฉันอาจจะดีขึ้นก็ได้ หรือถ้าไม่ดีขึ้น ถ้าฉันได้กินก่อนตายก็คงจะมีความสุขมาก”

สามีของเธอทั้งรักและห่วงภรรยามาก จึงตัดสินใจจะไปขโมยผักของเเม่มดใจร้าย และเมื่อนำผักราพันเซลมาให้ภรรยากิน อาการป่วยของเธอก็ดีขึ้น  

หลังจากนั้นไม่นาน ภรรยาของเขาก็ตั้งท้องสมดั่งใจ ในช่วงแพ้ท้องอย่างหนัก ภรรยาขอร้องให้สามีช่วยไปหาผักราพันเซลมาให้นางกินอีก

“พี่จ๋า ชั้นอยากกินผักราพันเซลมาก ๆ มันน่าจะช่วยทำให้ชั้นหายจากอาการแพ้ท้อง” ด้วยความเป็นห่วงภรรยา สามีจึงยอมที่จะไปขโมยผักของแม่มดอีกครั้ง  

สามีเธอเเอบเข้าไปในสวนเเม่มด แต่คราวนี้เขาโชคร้ายเจอกับเเม่มดใจร้าย เเม่มดโกรธมากที่เขาเข้ามาขโมยผักในสวน จึงตวาดด้วยเสียงดังว่า 

“เจ้าบังอาจมาก ที่เข้ามาขโมยราพันเซลสุดรักสุดหวงของข้า เจ้าต้องตาย” สามีตกใจมาก จึงรีบขอโทษแม่มดด้วยความสำนึกผิด

“ข้าต้องขอโทษท่านจริง ๆ เมียข้าไม่สบายมาก และตอนนี้นางกำลังแพ้ท้องอย่างหนัก ผักของท่านช่วยชีวิตนางได้ ได้โปรดไว้ชีวิตข้าด้วยเถิด”

เเม่มดได้ฟังจึงตอบว่า “ได้ ข้าจะไว้ชีวิตเจ้า แต่เจ้าจะต้องชดใช้ให้ข้า” สามีดีใจจึงรีบตอบว่า “ท่านต้องการให้ข้าชดใช้อะไร ข้ายินดีทำตาม”

แม่มดใจร้ายเจ้าเล่ห์จึงตอบว่า “เมื่อลูกของเจ้าคลอดออกมา ถ้าเป็นลูกสาว พวกเจ้าจะต้องยกลูกของเจ้าให้ข้าทันที" สามีเสียใจมาก แต่จำเป็นต้องยอม เพราะกลัวว่าจะถูกแม่มดฆ่าตาย  

เมื่อภรรยาของเขาคลอดลูก ปรากฏว่าเป็นลูกสาว สองสามีภรรยาตั้งชื่อทารกน้อยว่า “ราพันเซล” ตามชื่อผักที่เเม่ของหนูน้อยกิน  แต่ตามสัญญา ราพันเซลต้องไปอยู่กับเเม่มดตามที่ตกลงกันไว้  

ราพันเซลอยู่ในการดูแลของแม่มด และค่อย ๆ เติบโตขึ้นเป็นหญิงสาวที่งดงาม มีผมยาวสวย แม่มดคิดว่าราพันเซลสวยขึ้นทุกวันแบบนี้ สักวันจะต้องมีคนมาแย่งราพันเซลไปจากแม่มดแน่ ๆ

“เจ้าสวยขึ้นมาก ข้าคงจะปล่อยเจ้าไว้แบบนี้ไม่ได้ เจ้าจะต้องเป็นคนของข้าแต่ผู้เดียว” เมื่อคิดดังนั้นแล้ว แม่มดจึงนำราพันเซลไปขังไว้ในหอคอยสูงที่ไม่มีประตูและบันได ขังนางไว้จากโลกภายนอกเป็นปี ๆ

แม่มดคอยระมัดระวังมาก ไม่ให้ใครมีโอกาสพบเจอราพันเซลได้ ไม่ยอมแม้แต่การสร้างบันไดที่ปีนขึ้นไปหาราพันเซลได้ แต่แม่มดใช้วิธีอื่นแทน เมื่อไหร่ที่นางต้องการพบราพันเซล นางก็จะตะโกนเรียก

"ราพันเซล ราพันเซล ปล่อยผมเธอลงมาหน่อย" ราพันเซลก็ยอมจะปล่อยเปียสีทองของเธอลงมาจากหอสูงผ่านหน้าต่างบานเล็ก เพื่อให้แม่มดปีนขึ้นไปหาได้ หลายปีผ่านไป ราพันเซลรู้สึกเหงาที่ต้องอยู่ในหอคอย เธอมีแค่นกทั้งหลายที่เป็นมิตรกับเธอและชอบฟังเธอร้องเพลง

“ว่าไงเจ้านก เบื่อเสียงของข้าหรือยัง” ราพันเซลถามนกน้อยที่เกาะขอบหน้าต่าง “ข้าไม่มีวันเบื่อเสียงของเจ้าหรอกราพันเซล ข้าจะมาคอยฟังเจ้าร้องเพลงทุกวันนะ” นกน้อยตอบ จากนั้นราพันเซลก็ร้องเพลงให้นกน้อยฟัง   

วันหนึ่ง เจ้าชายผู้หนึ่งได้ยินเสียงราพันเซลร้องเพลง เขาจึงขี่ม้าไปที่หอ และมองขึ้นไปจนได้พบกับราพันเซลโฉมงามที่ยืนอยู่ที่หน้าต่าง เจ้าชายก็ได้ตกหลุมรักนางในทันใด และวันต่อมาเขาก็ขี่ม้ากลับมาฟังราพันเซลร้องเพลงทุกวัน ๆ

เจ้าชายพยายามค้นหาวิธีที่จะบอกรักราพันเซล ในขณะที่เขากำลังรออยู่นั้น เขาได้ยินแม่มดเรียกราพันเซล และเห็นเธอปีนผมเปียขึ้น วันถัดมา เจ้าชายจึงปลอมเสียงเรียกแบบแม่มดบ้าง “ราพันเซล ๆ ปล่อยผมของเจ้าลงมาหน่อย”

ราพันเซลคิดว่าเป็นแม่มดมาเรียก จึงปล่อยผมของเธอลงมา เจ้าชายรีบปีนขึ้นไปข้างในหอ ราพันเซลเห็นเจ้าชายก็ตกใจ เธอไม่เคยเจอใครมาก่อนนอกจากแม่มด แต่เจ้าชายพูดกับเธอด้วยความอ่อนโยน

เขาบอกเธอว่า “ราพันเซล ข้าตกหลุมรักเจ้าทันทีที่ได้ยินเสียง และยิ่งได้เห็นหน้าเจ้า ข้ายิ่งรู้ว่าข้ารักเจ้ามากมาย ข้าจึงอยากขอเจ้าแต่งงาน” ราพันเซลได้ฟังดังนั้น ก็หลงรักเจ้าชายทันที

“ข้ายอมรับคำขอแต่งงานของท่าน เพราะข้าก็รักท่านเหมือนกัน” ราพันเซลตอบพร้อมยื่นมือของเธอให้เจ้าชายจูบ หลังจากนั้นเจ้าชายมาเยี่ยมราพันเซลทุก ๆ บ่าย และมอบดอกกุหลาบให้ราพันเซลทุกครั้ง ราพันเซลแอบซ่อนดอกกุหลาบไว้โดยแยกออกเป็นกลีบๆ ซ่อนไว้ในชุดของเธอ และทั้งสองก็วางแผนหลบหนีออกจากหอ  

วันหนึ่ง เมื่อแม่มดมาเยี่ยม กลีบดอกกุหลาบได้ร่วงหล่นออกมาจากชุดราพันเซล แม่มดเห็นและได้รับรู้เรื่องของเจ้าชาย แม่มดจึงตัดผมเปียของราพันเซลทิ้ง และส่งเธอไปอยู่ในป่า

คืนนั้น เมื่อเจ้าชายเรียก แม่มดจึงปลอมตัวเป็นราพันเซล แล้วปล่อยผมเปียราพันเซลลงมา ระหว่างที่เจ้าชายกำลังปีนขึ้นไป เขาได้พบว่าราพันเซลไม่อยู่แล้ว แม่มดจึงปล่อยผมเปียซึ่งทำให้เจ้าชายตกลงมาจากหอสูง 

ร่างเจ้าชายร่วงตกลงบนหนามแหลม ที่ทิ่มลูกตาของเขา ทำให้เจ้าชายตาบอด ไม่สามารถออกตามหาราพันเซลได้ หลายปีผ่านไป และแล้ววันหนึ่ง เจ้าชายได้ยินเสียงผู้หญิงร้องเพลง เขาเดินตามเสียงเพลงนั้น ทั้งที่ตามองไม่เห็น เขารู้ทันทีว่าเสียงนั้นคือเสียงร้องเพลงของราพันเซลนั่นเอง

เมื่อเจ้าชายเดินตามเสียงจนมาเจอกับราพันเซล ราพันเซลร้องไห้ด้วยความดีใจ และโผเข้ากอดเจ้าชาย น้ำตาของเธอที่มีแต่ความรักได้หยดลงบนดวงตาของเจ้าชาย ทันใดนั้นเอง อำนาจร้ายของแม่มดก็ได้จบลง เจ้าชายกลับมามองเห็น ในที่สุดทั้งคู่ก็ได้ครองรักกันอย่างมีความสุขตลอดกาล

ข้อคิดเรื่องราพันเซล

อย่าย่อท้อต่ออุปสรรค แม้ว่าอุปสรรคจะดูยากเย็นแค่ไหนก็ตาม เหมือนราพันเซลที่มีความฝันอยากจะได้ออกไปสัมผัสโลกภายนอก เธอยังคงมีความหวังและพยายามที่จะหาทางออกจากหอคอยให้ได้ และในที่สุดเธอก็ประสบความสำเร็จ

Rapunzel (นิทานราพันเซล ฉบับภาษาอังกฤษ)

Once upon a time, there lived a husband and wife who really wanted to have a baby. They pray to angels every night to grant them their wishes. Their house is on a hill near the castle of the wicked witch, who likes to plant different kinds of vegetables and flowers around the estate.

One day, the wife sees a vegetable in the witch’s garden. This vegetable is called “Rapunzel,” and the wife longs to eat it. Later, she falls gravely ill and begs her husband to bring her the Rapunzel vegetable.

“Darling, I long for the Rapunzel vegetables. My condition might improve if I eat it, but if it doesn’t, at least I will be delighted that I get to eat it before I die.”

Her husband, who loves and cares for her very much, decides to steal the wicked witch’s vegetable. When the wife eats it, her illness improves.

Not long after, the wife gets pregnant as they had wished. During a severe bout of morning sickness, she begs her husband to bring her the Rapunzel vegetable again.

“Darling, I long to eat the Rapunzel vegetable. I think it will help my morning sickness.” With love and care, the husband agrees to steal the witch’s vegetable once again.

The husband sneaks into the witch’s garden, but unfortunately, the witch sees him this time. She is furious that he has come to steal the vegetables from her garden and yells, “How dare you come and steal my beloved Rapunzel!? You must die!”

The husband is shocked and remorsefully apologizes to the witch, “I’m so sorry, madam. My wife is very ill and has morning sickness. Your vegetable can save her life. Please spare my life.” The witch listens and says, “I will spare your life, but you will have to repay me.”

The elated husband quickly replies, “Whatever you want me to do, I will do it.” The cunning witch answers, “When your child is born and is a girl, you will have to give her to me right away.” The husband is distraught but agrees to the witch’s demand for fear that she will kill him.

When his wife gives birth to a girl, the two of them name her “Rapunzel” after the vegetable that the little girl’s mom had eaten. But according to the promise, Rapunzel will have to live with the witch as agreed.

Rapunzel lives under the witch’s care and grows up into a beautiful lady with long, shiny hair. The witch thinks that Rapunzel is getting prettier every day and that someday, someone will surely steal her from the witch

“You have become so much more beautiful. I cannot leave you like this. You must be mine alone!” So, the witch locks Rapunzel up in a tall tower with no doors or stairs, keeping her from the outside world for years.

The witch is very careful not to let anyone else meet her and refuses to even build stairs to climb up to see Rapunzel. The witch uses a different method instead. Whenever she wants to see Rapunzel, she yells, “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair.”

Rapunzel then lets her long, luscious blonde braid tumble through the small tower window, so the witch can climb up her hair to get to her. Many years pass, and Rapunzel feels incredibly lonely in the tower. Her only friends are birds who like to hear her sing.

“Hello, little bird. Are you bored of my voice yet?” Rapunzel asks the little bird perched on the edge of the window. “I will never tire of your voice, Rapunzel. I will come here every day to listen to you sing,” the bird replies. From that day onwards, Rapunzel sings for the little bird.

One day, a prince hears Rapunzel’s voice and rides his horse to her tower. He looks up and sees the beautiful Rapunzel standing at the window. He falls in love with her at first sight and returns to hear her sing the next day and the days after.

The prince tries to search for a way to tell Rapunzel that he’s in love with her. While waiting, he hears the witch calling out to Rapunzel and sees her climb up Rapunzel’s long locks. The next day, the prince mimics the witch’s call, “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair.”

Rapunzel thinks it’s the witch and lets down her hair. The prince swiftly climbs up into the tower. When Rapunzel sees the prince, she is in shock. Never has she ever seen anyone else apart from the witch, but the prince speaks to her gently and says,

“Rapunzel, I fell in love with you as soon as I heard your voice, and the more I see your face, the more I know how much I love you. Therefore, I would like to ask you to marry me.”

As soon as Rapunzel hears this, she instantly falls in love with the prince. “I accept your marriage proposal because I also love you dearly,” she replies while extending her hand out for the prince to kiss it.

After that, the prince visits Rapunzel every afternoon and brings her flowers each time. Rapunzel hides the bouquet of flowers by splitting them into petals hidden in her dress. The both of them plan her escape from the tower.

One day, while the witch visits Rapunzel, a petal falls out of her dress. The witch sees this and learns about the prince, so she cuts Rapunzel’s hair and sends her into the deep forest.

That night, when the prince calls out, the witch pretends to be Rapunzel and lets down Rapunzel’s braided locks. While the prince climbs up the hair, he realizes that Rapunzel is no longer there. So, the witch lets go of Rapunzel’s hair, and the prince falls from the tall tower.

The prince falls onto sharp thorns, which pierce his eyes and make him blind. He can no longer look for Rapunzel. Many years pass, and one day, the prince hears the voice of a woman singing. He follows the voice and meets Rapunzel.

She cries in delight and leaps into his arms. Her tears, which are filled with love, fall into the prince’s eyes. Suddenly, the witch’s evil spell is broken, and the prince can see her once again. Finally, they are able to fall in love and live happily ever after.
